SELF-PROMOTION IS SO SELF-DEFEATING2

Thanks so much for the comments y'all. Here's what I've come up with. The card itself will be 4/6 on matte coated--mainly because that holds up the best. Please let me know what you think. I am working on another card to gear towards another targeted audience--mainly kids... We'll see what happens. I'll let you all know what happens!

He's kind of creepy, and he has a very shiny nose...but he's spiffy and i like it.

I like the sketch better, but both are good.

Beautiful James! He's got such character. I really like the mood you were able to convey with this one. The sketch is nice in a graphic sense, but I think this is the way to go. Great, great stuff.

Thanks y'all!

Famerbob, I always prefer the sketches to the final pieces. I don't kn ow why that is... I guess, it's that the sketches are so much more spontaneous--more vital.

Jared, Thanks man... I wanted this guy to be a little on the creepy side, a little bit scary. I also wanted a little bit of the "vintage" look with this. We'll see what happens. It's always such a crapshoot with this stuff you know???

"And what did they do to the lambs, Clarece?"

Sorry 'bout that, James. I just had to do it! This is a great piece here. If you're going for the creepy vintage look, you definitely nailed it.

Thanks Ward... I WAS going for a little bit o' the creep in this one. I came across this funky vintage photo that just screamed for a little caricature treatment...
